About Us
Founded in 2017 by Dr. Nekia Staley, Special Care for Special Needs (SCSND) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with special needs by expanding access to compassionate oral healthcare, promoting oral health education, advocating for inclusive care, and building meaningful community partnerships.
We believe that every person deserves access to quality dental care delivered with dignity, compassion, and respect. Through outreach initiatives, educational programs, volunteer service, and strategic partnerships, we work to eliminate barriers to care while empowering individuals, caregivers, and families with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.
One of our signature initiatives is our annual Community Day Health Fair, where volunteer dental professionals and community partners come together to provide free dental services, oral health education, and valuable community resources. While Community Day is one of our most visible programs, it represents just one part of our year-round commitment to improving oral health and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with special needs.
Today, SCSND continues to collaborate with healthcare professionals, community organizations, volunteers, and generous supporters to advance our mission of creating healthier smiles, stronger communities, and a future where individuals with special needs have equitable access to the care and resources they deserve.
